The tradition of Wimbledon continues, so does Sutton Hoo chicken on their menu.

We, like most, are excited for the return of The Championships, Wimbledon next week.

Although Wimbledon will be operating differently this summer, notably with lower capacity, some things don’t change - you can still expect to sip on bubbles and indulge in strawberries and cream. Fast becoming a tradition, you can also expect to see Sutton Hoo chicken on the menu.

Appearing on the carefully curated menu for the 6th year, we couldn’t be prouder. Our chickens roam freely in Suffolk meadows, where they are free to peck, graze and engage in their natural behaviours, contributing to the fuller and more succulent chicken flavour. We are proud of our commitment to rearing truly free range, slow grown chickens and are pleased the official caterers of The Championships, Wimbledon have recognised this in choosing to serve Sutton Hoo chickens to guests.

Compass Group UK and Ireland , the official caterers of The Championships, Wimbledon commented: “We truly believe how animals are reared has a direct impact on the quality and flavour of the meat once it reaches the table which is why we use Sutton Hoo for our chicken. Their commitment to rearing truly free range chicken in the Suffolk countryside shows in the quality of their chickens”.

“We serve Sutton Hoo Chicken to our hospitality guests, in players dining and in the Walled Garden. Visitors can enjoy our homemade breaded chicken which is a delicious recipe using the wings, thighs and drumsticks, ensuring nothing goes to waste.”

You can buy Sutton Hoo Chicken online from the Wild Meat Co or find your nearest stockist here.
