A Royal line up of recipes for a Jubilee Party
We can’t wait to celebrate the Jubilee!
With street parties galore planned to mark the momentous occasion, we couldn’t help but share some ideas of how we plan to party!
After a long lockdown of being separated from family and friends, we’re ready for a big knees-up so have been busy planning the ultimate spread for a street party!
Any excuse to dress the table, we’ll be putting on a food banquet with a royal line up of recipes.
First up, because arguably, it’s not a royal line up of recipes if Coronation Chicken doesn’t feature on the table!
Coronation Chicken was first served during Her Majesty’s coronation banquet in 1953, marking the beginning of her 70-year-long reign. Originally called ‘Poulet Reine Elizabeth’ (translates to Queen Elizabeth Chicken) this dish has to be the main of any jubilee.
We’ll also be making lots of mini filo pastry pies. Small bites and finger food are always a crowd pleaser, easy to eat while you’re busy catching up with friends and family. You won’t be able to resist these little pies - flavoured with cinnamon, mace and nutmeg, they are a delicious warming treat and are certainly fit for a Queen!
Lastly, we always like to serve a big salad when entertaining. Quick and easy to make, this salad provides a healthy alternative to heavier pastry based foods that often get served at a buffet style party. This recipe is light and refreshing on a warm day (fingers crossed the sun shines for the Jubilee weekend!)
A sumptuous feast in celebration of the British monarch must be served with a refreshing glass of Pimm’s or elderflower cordial. We’ll be sipping away over the bank holiday weekend!
To help you celebrate, we’ve teamed up with some amazing British brands to give you the chance to WIN Belvoir Elderflower Cordials, Fairfields Farm Crisps, Stokes Sauces, and of course a Sutton Hoo Chicken! Enter here!
